Clients expect you to be knowledgeable about the market and even about the economy.  But how much do you know?

Fortunately, the Internet makes it easy to look up data, get information and stay informed.  If you know where to look, you can visit one or two websites and get host of useful information.

One such website, run by the National Association of Home Builders, is www.housingeconomics.com.  This site offers 43 different sets of housing data and economic indicators, all on one easy to navigate page. Logon to the site and click “Housing Statistics” to see what’s available.  So far this month, they’ve published employment statistics for states and metro areas, information on building permits authorized around the country, information on housing starts (i.e., the number of new homes on which construction has begun), weekly mortgage rates for 15 and 30-year mortgages, and new home sales.
